Zamia oblique with new leaves. This specimen is growing in the forest at Bahia Malaga on the Pacific Coast of Colombia. While Z. roezli grows in the same area we did not see any hybridization of the species. Sometimes the slopes where the plants grow were very steep and difficult to set foot on without ending up knee-deep in mud and debris. This picture was taken in torrential rain, using a palm frond as cover, from the opposite bank of a deep, fast flowing (at the time as it had been raining for a while) stream.
