New Encephalartos Edition 142 now available to all registered members!

We are pleased to announce that Encephalartos Edition 142 is now available to all registered members of the Cycad Society of South Africa.

On the cover of ENCEPHALARTOS No. 142

The cover features Encephalartos horridus in its natural habitat near Uitenhage in the Eastern Cape.

Recent DNA analysis shows that E. horridus is closely related to E. lehmannii, with high gene flow between the species. E. horridus occurs closer to the coast, while E. lehmannii is limited to more arid inland areas.
