More than four decades of cycad knowledge, now preserved digitally in one collection.
All past and present Encephalartos Issues, from Issue 1 to Issue 142, are now available in the Registered Members Content area for paid-up members.
The Cycad Society of South Africa is pleased to make this extensive digital archive available to its members, bringing together more than four decades of knowledge, research, experience and contributions from members of the Society.
A great deal of work has taken place behind the scenes to digitise and preserve the complete collection of Encephalartos issues, ensuring that the information contained in these publications remains accessible to both current and future generations.
Although some of the earliest issues date back to 1985, much of the information remains just as relevant today. The archive contains valuable articles, observations, research and practical experience relating to cycads, their cultivation and their conservation.
For newer members, the archive provides an opportunity to learn from the knowledge and experience of those who came before. For long-standing members and experienced cycad enthusiasts, it serves as an extensive reference library spanning more than four decades.
From Encephalartos No. 1, published in March 1985, to Encephalartos No. 142, published in July 2026, the collection tells an important part of the history of the Cycad Society of South Africa.
We are proud to have preserved this valuable resource for future generations and to make this wealth of information available to members of the Society.
